Action Plan
General Purpose:
Provide a community service for children at a local daycare center
Specific Purpose:
Entertainment Media For Children will host A Charlie Brown Christmas for the children at the Marc Cisneros Center.
Entertainment Media For Children is planning on hosting a movie date for the children at the local Marc Cisneros Center in Kingsville, TX on December 17th at 3:00 P.M. The movie that we will be showing is A Charlie Brown Christmas. This movie is suitable for young children, and it is a traditional Christmas movie known to many. Before the movie, the children will be given snacks and coloring sheets of one of the characters from the movie. This will help keep the kids who aren't watching the movie occupied. After the movie is over, there will be a question and answer segment for the children. We will ask the children about the morals of the story, and also to see who their favorite character was.
I. Action Plan, Electronic Media, and Movie
A. My role is to make the action plan for Entertainment Media For Children. This plan will layout the tasks given to the individual members of Entertainment Media For Children.
B. I will also post the movie date on the announcement page of the Entertainment Media For Children's website. This will ensure that more people will know about the event.
C. My role is to also research the different holiday movies for children. I will see which Christmas movies are appropriate for the ages 2-8.
D. The movie that Entertainment Media For Children decided to show is, A Charlie Brown Christmas. This is because it is a traditional Christmas movie, and well suited for kids.
II. Get permission from the Marc Cisneros Center to show A Charlie Brown Christmas
A. Jessica is in charge of securing a location, like the Marc Cisneros Center so that Entertainment Media For Children can show a movie to local kids.
B. Jessica will write a professional letter to the local director of the Marc Cisneros Center to get permission to show A Charlie Brown Christmas. She will tell the director in detail on why we would want to plan this event.
III. Snacks
A. Christina's role is to make sure that there are going to be snacks for the kids at the movie date
B. She will be in charge of making sure that there is cookies, milk, and punch for the kids.
C. Entertainment Media For Children might not have the funds to provide the snacks, so each individual member will first see if they can supply the snacks. If not, the next option is to see if the Marc Cisneros Center will provide the snacks for us.
D. Parents will possibly be asked to donate a couple of dollars for snacks. This will be a last resort because parents are already being asked for money due to the holidays. We would like to save them some trouble and hassle.
IV. Flyers, Coloring sheets, and Decorations
A. Adrianna's role is to make flyers for the event, so that the local parents of the children know about the movie date.
B. She will print out the flyers and give them to the director of the Marc Cisneros Center, so that she can pass them out to the children. This will help ensure that more of the children will have permission to watch the movie.
C. Adrianna will also be given the task to print out copies of a coloring sheet of one of the characters in A Charlie Brown Christmas. Before the movie, the coloring sheets will be passed around so that the kids will have a chance at being introduced to one of the characters. This is also done so that it can keep the kids occupied before the movie.
D. She is also in charge of decorating the Marc Cisneros Center so that it has a holiday feel. The decorations will also relate to the movie that will be shown to the children.
V. Introduction of movie and group members to the children
A. Justin's Role is to the speak for the group when we host the event at the Marc Cisneros Center. He will provide the children with information on the movie and answer any questions pertaining to the event.
B. He will introduce each group member of Entertainment Media For Children, so that the kids can get to know each person better. He will also give the kids a little information of the movie and introduce what it is about.
